Bar D'Alfil (opposite the post office and tourist information office) have Karaoke four nights a week and a crazy show with John three nights, including the Full Monty once a week. Black Bull (in the Shopping Centre just behind Rock Cola - opposite the Chinese) Pop in and watch live sport and the Soaps with Juan Carlos. Challenge him to a pool match, but keep an eye on the table, it's got more rolls in it than a local sandwich bar! Also internet facilities here and free playstation. Central Meeting Place (right in the middle of the Shooping Centre). A great place to sit and watch the world go by. Several UK imported beers. Live sport. City Cafe (in the Shopping Centre opposite the Samoa Hotel) Quiet and comfortable and, wait for it girls ... no football! A warm welcome awaits you from Martina Guitarras (opposite the Samoa Hotyel)Spanish owned bar/restaurant. Liver entertainment on the terrace most nights. O'Donnell's (opposite the Maria Eugenia) Irish bar run by Nick and Lynn. All the live sport, top beers including the best pint of Guinness in town, and live entertainment with resident and guest musicians Papagayo's Bar (next to D'Alfil) As they say, "no night is the same at Pap's" and you just never know what Darren and Sean will get up to next. Big screen for all top sporting action. Rock Cola (on the front of the Commercial Centre) Live music, sports and Karaoke Bar Tiffany's (next to O'Donnell's) Night Club and Disco to the early hours of the morning SOME PLACES TO EAT Amarat Restaurant (Just before the America Hotel on the left) Re-opened in 2006 after being closed for a year. Now run by Martina from the City Cafe they offer an international selection of food. Great views out to sea from the restaurant. Best to book a sea-view table. Bar D'Alfil (opposite the post office and tourist information office) Not expensive but good basic food served by pleasant staff ... and also Eduardo and Alex!!! The Lasagne is recommended. Casa Pila (opposite the Samoa Hotel). Scottish/Spanish owned, they have been in Calas for more than 20 years (they should get parole soon!). You are always made welcome, British food cooked the British way. Breakfasts highly recommended China Town (opposite the Black Bull) Chinese restaurant. Good value. El Grillo (in the Commercial Centre by the bike hire) Open all winter they serve basic food but at a reasonable price. Popular with the Spanish locals. Mallorca Bar (in the Commercial Centre next to Cala Pila) Local and International cuisine. |
