| Taxis can either be hailed in the road, provided the green light on top of the vehicle is illuminated, or picked up in the Taxi ranks marked on the map on the centre pages.
The cabs are only allowed to take a maximum of four passengers. Most of the taxi drivers speak English and it is advisable to ask the approximate fare before setting off. The cabs run on meters, as in the UK and Ireland, and the fares quoted by drivers, and in the list below, are approximate guides only. The cost increases between 9pm and 6am, and on Sundays and Fiesta days.
If you catch a taxi from Palma expect to pay a bit more. Palma taxis are slightly dearer than local ones - also there is a surcharge from the airport and seaport area. The prices given below are from the rank in the centre of town and so may vary if you take a taxi from another part of the resort.
